In 2003, an experienced group of boat builders collaborated to design and build offshore sport fishing boats designed for the latest four-stroke, V6 outboards. Using state-of-the-art three-dimensional modeling technology, Southport quickly became the industry standard in design, performance and finish. Southport's performance advantage is a result of offshore racing technology combined with custom hull designs from C. Raymond Hunt Associates.

The Hunt deep-V, with its fine entry forward, stable width aft, and easy-running shape, allows these Southport center console fishing machines to plane at a wider range of speeds, to get out to offshore spots fast and then troll with stability, and to harness the advantages of the new outboards.
