Profile & Arrangement

This aluminum 35-footer is a no-nonsense, workboat-finish sportfishing boat for use in Maine's Casco Bay. A fully-enclosed pilothouse allows comfort in all weather, with Stidd seats for helmsman and companion, a simple galley, and a bench with storage under facing a fold-down table. Swinging doors on both sides give access to a walkaround deck with full height handrails. The walkaround allows secure passage to the foredeck, the bow seat, and the bow pulpit. Wide roof overhangs offer shade and rain protection. A third door provides access to the cockpit, where the topsides have swinging doors port and starboard, both for access to and from the mooring float and for easy boating of large fish. An exterior control station with its own Stidd seat allows the helmsman to be in close communication with the fishing activity and to maneuver the boat to best effect. The taffrail contains a bait well and bait and tackle storage. Below decks are a V berth, a small head, and a hanging locker.

The 480hp Cummins QSB 5.9 diesel engine is coupled to Ultrajet 340 waterjet. The waterjet was selected for its good performance and joystick maneuverability, and for its lack of appendages in the rock and pot buoy-studded waters of Casco Bay.

This design combines, in an unusual way, several familiar Hunt themes: the aluminum construction and workboat styling familiar from our work with pilot and patrol boats; the requirements of sportfishing, which we know from experience with both production and custom clients; and the engineering of jet propulsion, which we have done for decades in boats from 9' to 90'. And of course, under it all lies the Hunt deep-V, developed and refined over fifty years for performance and comfort.
