This 112-foot motoryacht resulted from the collaboration of C. Raymond Hunt Associates with builder Palmer Johnson of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and architect stylists Nuvolari/Lenard of Venice, Italy. Hunt provided naval architecture, including hull lines and weight and trim estimates and tracking, and assisted in the engineering development of the vessel when new requirements necessitated engineering changes. The end result was well worth the effort, as the yacht trimmed perfectly at rest, and ran cleanly at an optimum angle. The accompanying photograph shows her at speed, leaving a notably clean wake and making minimal spray. Her top speed at trials was 31 knots, and builder and owners were pleased, possibly even a little surprised, as some estimates had suggested a lower speed. While Hunt usually undertakes to provide full design services, including construction, styling and space planning, as well as naval architecture, this project is another example of a successful collaboration with builders and other designers to produce a successful outcome in a larger vessel.
